What’s just as good as first class?
Scoring an entire row to yourself on an international flight.
Traveling today was a mess…delays, 1 hour wait for checkin, customs and lost baggage….22 hours later and I’m finally home. I’ve never been one to be afraid of flying, but this flight was just exhausting. The turbulence from Montreal passing through Kansas was just terrible and nonstop for nearly 2 hours. I sat there gripping on to my seat and at one point the plane jerked so hard that I nearly flew out of it.
I just put in another request for an extra day off. I don’t think I can function properly if I have to go to work tomorrow.
UPDATE: Well that explains it. I’m watching the news right now and there was severe weather along the midwest with hail the size of tennis balls. Glad we got out of that safely.
Apparently my friend Andrea is not impressed with any of the Roman ruins. I, on the other hand am completely fascinated by them. I kept on showing her site after site and trying to get some kind reaction out of her.
But she just shrugs her shoulders and says…eh…it’s just old stuff. Haha…such a hard critic. Which I’m completely fine with because I’ve done all the touristy stuff in Rome when I went almost 10 years ago. Now when I travel, I like to just hang out like the locals and avoid all of the touristy areas. Unless of course…it’s something that you absolutely have to see.
She was however, impressed with the Trevi fountain and the Vatican. I think I’m good on the Vatican now for the rest of my life. This was the 2nd time seeing it and the crowds of tourists just don’t do it for me.
Tomorrow I head home. Andrea is not ready at all, but then again I have been traveling a lot longer than she has. This is how I know that 1 month is the sweet spot for traveling. You’re ready to go home because you feel like you’ve been on the road for too long.
See you soon San Francisco! <3
